A local person, not an agency

I'm Matthew, and this is my side of MEPS Digital — a two-person shop here in the Hudson Valley.

Matthew, founder of MEPS Digital

If you own a business around here, you already get several emails a week from "agencies" telling you your website needs work. Most are sent in bulk by people who have never been to Newburgh, cannot name a single one of your competitors, and will disappear the moment you ask a specific question.

We are the opposite of that, and deliberately so. You will work with me or my partner directly — not an account manager, not a queue. We take on a small number of businesses at a time because that is the only way to do this properly.

Why I know this market

Before pitching a single business, I measured the market. Plumbers, roofers, HVAC contractors, dentists and chiropractors across Newburgh, Middletown, Poughkeepsie, Kingston, Monticello and Goshen — several hundred local businesses, all audited the same way. The first market written up in full was 46 chiropractic practices in Orange County, and the same study runs for any industry.

That means when we talk, I am not guessing about your market. I can tell you what the businesses ranking above you are actually doing differently, because I checked.

I build my own tools

The audits above were not done by hand or bought from a vendor. I wrote the software that runs them: it pulls local businesses by category, checks each website for the technical basics, measures load speed through Google's own testing API, scores how complete each Google listing is, and tracks how quickly a business is gaining reviews.

The practical benefit to you is that a proper audit costs me almost nothing to run, which is why I can hand you one for free before you have paid me anything.

Where we came from

I am a professional software engineer by trade — the auditing tools above are mine. My business partner is my best friend and runs the operations side: the client relationships, the scheduling, the actual running of a business. Between us that covers what this work genuinely takes — someone who can build and measure the technology, and someone who can run a company and talk to an owner as a peer.

We also own a junk removal company here in the Hudson Valley. It is still ours; we have simply turned the advertising off while we build this. That is the part worth knowing about us: we have been the small business owner watching a quiet week and weighing a marketing invoice against the month's numbers. We are not consultants who have only read about it.
